Job type: Full time, permanent
Hours: Typically 30 – 37 hours per week, over 18 months

Salary: £8.00 – £10.85, dependant on age 

Annual leave: 28 days (pro rata) plus Christmas shut-down

We are seeking an Apprentice to join our team. This is a fully funded training opportunity for a 16 – 19 year old looking to kick-start their childcare career and gain valuable hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

– Assist practitioners and senior practitioners in the care of the children

– Learn and apply new practical skills under supervision

– Work towards a recognised childcare qualification

– Follow policies and procedures

– Communicate effectively with team members and parents

Pay meets requirements for apprenticeship wage, according to age.

What we’re looking for:

• Must be willing to work towards Practitioner level (SCQF Level 7) qualification 

• Proficient in English, both written and verbal with basic numeracy skills 

• Must demonstrate commitment to the role, good attendance and completion of work in a timely manner 

• Willingness to work with young children and contribute to their care and learning, including outdoor and forest learning sessions 

• Excellent communication skills and positive attitude with a patient, honest, reliable and nurturing manner 

• Must have or be willing to obtain PVG membership with Disclosure Scotland.

This post is regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
