Wee Mack's Nursery

About Wee Mack's

Wee Mack’s nursery, opening early 2021, is owned by local entrepreneur Chris Moonie.  Based at the ground floor of a beautiful iconic former church building at Constitution Street, Wee Mack’s will provide childcare for infants and children from 6 months to 5 years of age.

Children are grouped according to age in four large play zones, with access to an outdoor play area of 80 square metres. Our setting has been designed with the needs of each age group in mind; to be safe, educational, environmentally sustainable and above all, fun.  Our setting has space available for 70 children across the four age groups.

With a professional and experienced staff team, our nursery will nurture, protect and support your children through each stage of their development.  From 6 months to 3 years, children will follow the Early Years Framework; from 3 – 5 years, they will follow the Curriculum for Excellence to prepare them for the transition to school.

Wee Mack’s was created during the Covid-19 pandemic and therefore the nursery has been designed to follow new government guidelines regarding distancing, infection control and hygiene in an early learning setting. [View or download our C19 Policy]

Meet Wee Mack

Wee Mack is a friendly otter who has come from the Water of Leith to help our nursery teach your Little Ones.  His familiar face and relatable character will assist your child’s learning in a cute and fun way. Otters symbolise peace, friendship, kindness and family – all things we value here at Wee Mack’s nursery. Furthermore, they are sociable yet mischievous and have a never-ending curiosity – just like young children! We are sure that Wee Mack will be the perfect fit for your child.  His crew member friends like to hang around the nursery, see if you can spot them when you visit!
